Mystic Caravan Smokey Pear Bitters

* Note: In our recipes, 1 dropper refers to the natural amount of liquid the dropper draws, about 1/4-1/3 full, not a full dropper.

1 dropper is also equivalent to 1 dash from a shaker bottle of bitters, which is used in most recipes.

 

The Highwayman

1.5 oz (45 ml) Auchentoshen 12

0.75 oz (22.5 ml) Dubonnet

0.75 oz (22.5 ml) Averna

2 droppers Apothecary Bitters Mystic Caravan bitters

 

Pinch of ground allspice

-----------------------------------

Add Auchentoshen 12, Dubonnet, Averna and Mystic Caravan to a mixing glass with ice. Stir well, then strain into a chilled coupe.

Sprinkle with a pinch of allspice and serve.

The Esmeralda

45 ml Campo de Encanto Grand & Noble pisco

20 ml Maidenii Dry Vermouth

10 ml Pierre Ferrand Curaçao

1 Bar spoon Original Bank Exchange Pineapple Cordial

3 Dashes Apothecary Smokey Pear Bitters

Stir all ingredients over ice, strain into chilled coupe, spritz with lemon peel.

 

 

Autumn Breeze

 

2 oz (60 ml) rye

0.25 oz (7.5 ml) Lapsang simple syrup*

3 droppers Apothecary Bitters Mystic Caravan bitters

2 droppers Apothecary Bitters General Ambrose's bitters

Laphroaig 10 yr, to rinse

 

Twist of orange peel, flamed

Add rye, lapsang simple syrup, Mystic Caravan, and General Ambrose's to a mixing glass with ice and stir well.

Rinse a chilled old fashioned glass with Laphroaig, pouring out excess, and add a large ice cube.

Strain mixing glass into prepared glass and flame an orange peel, dropping it into the cocktail after, skin side up.

 

*To make Lapsang simple syrup, combine in a small saucepan over medium heat:

1 cup water, 2 cups brown sugar.

Stir frequently until the sugar is dissolved and bring to a boil.

Remove from heat, add 4 tbsp of Lapsang Souchong tea and let steep for 10 minutes. Cool and strain. Keep refrigerated.

1.5 oz (45 ml) Zacapa 23yr

0.5 oz (15 ml) Carpano Antica

0.5 oz (15 ml) Averna

2 droppers Apothecary Bitters Mystic Caravan bitters

 

Twist of orange peel, for garnish

Add Zacapa, Carpano Antica, Averna and Gypsy Caravan to a mixing glass with ice. Stir well, then strain into a chilled coupe.

Twist the orange peel over the drink, rub the rim of the glass, then drop it in as a garnish.
